Planes of the head: The key to effective portrait painting lies in understanding lighting and how it interacts with the contours of the face. Using an Azarro head for guidance, we can analyse how light hits specific areas of the head, braking it down into tonal values for a more dynamic, realistic result.
Following on from our basic Face Alignments video, and taken from our popular portraits course, this video will show you step by step how to construct the tones of the face. A useful set of markers to enable you to draw from life.
